Noah AbrahamseBio Noah Abrahamse is an Alto Saxophonist, Band Leader, and Composer/Arranger based in Toronto, Canada. Noah specializes in Latin and Jazz music and has been hailed by legends such as Hilario Duran, Laura Fernandez and Joaquin Nunez Hidalgo.
Noah studied at Humber College's esteemed Bachelors in Music Performance program for 4 years and studied with some of the brightest minds in the Jazz scene such as Alex Dean, Johnny Griffith, and Hilario Duran. As well as being a two time recipient of the Kenny McLean Memorial Scholarship for showing "a pattern of musical passion, creativity, and leadership," Through Hilario Duran, Noah learned to lead his own band, "The Mumbo Jumbo Combo," As well as arrange and compose. Noah also studied the rhythms of Cuba and Latin America extensively, as well as learning how to play percussion such as Bongos, Guiro, Cowbell, etc. And he exemplifies his rhythmic and harmonic knowledge in his compositions and arrangements. In Noah's Music, you will hear the influence of his mentors, fusing with his own personal style to create something unique and exhilarating. Noah Abrahamse takes the rhythms of Cuba, and Latin America and fuses them with the melodies of Jazz Tradition to create something both complex and relatable. |
